The all-volunteer organization, Friends of Art & Design, incorporated as a 501c3 in 1994. Dedicated to working with the faculty and administration of the High School of Art & Design, FAD helps students develop the skills they need to achieve success in school and in life. The High School of Art & Design is a career and technical school focused on high academic achievement and pre-professional courses in the commercial arts. Located at 1075 Second Ave., Manhattan (between E. 56th and E. 57th Sts.), it draws students from New Yorks City's five boroughs.

FAD Board members and supporters believe that it is every citizen’s responsibility to do all she or he can to help every youngster achieve his or her potential, not only for the student’s welfare, but for the welfare of our society.
