HOW $65 CAN FOREVER CHANGE THE LIFE
           OF A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT

Not $65 per week, per month, or even per year.

We are talking about a one-time cost of $65 to enable a student to apply to 5 New York State colleges.

David -- a volunteer with Friends of Art & Design (FAD), an organization in existence for the past 15 years dedicated to helping students of the High School of Art & Design -- was recently assisting students with their college applications. He was astonished when he discovered that a very bright young lady was not applying to college simply because she could not raise the $65 needed for the state college applications. Kathy was quite depressed since she felt she would never be able to continue her education to reach her full potential.

David helped Kathy fill out the applications and through FAD provided her with the $65 needed to submit them.

Kathy was ultimately accepted and is now attending an architectural college in upstate New York with a full scholarship.

David then enlisted the assistance of other FAD members to work with other HSAD students to provide them with such necessary expenses as college application fees, travel expenses, and the purchase of appropriate clothing they needed to look presentable for college interviews.

We are appealing to you to make it possible for other qualified students who are in need of assistance to apply to colleges. Their bright future is our bright future.
