Volunteering and exceptionalism became a way of life as a Cub Scout and is with him still. His art background started as a gold medal winner in a John Wannamaker contest when he was in first grade and had been dormant until several years ago. A Pre-med student at NYU till WWII service in the US Army Air Corps took him off to serve in the South Pacific. On returning home literally to a basement position and then working his way up to a partnership with a decorative fabric concern catering to the interior decorating field, Allan started his second school career helping foreign college graduates learn " proper English " and then as a tutor, lead tutor and coordinator of the Learning Leaders tutoring program.
